Hello! My full name is Pa Yang and I am a first year graduate student of Chico State’s Psychological Science Master’s program. I heard about an open writing tutor position in the Writing Center from one of my good friends and then a writing tutor. I doubted a bit that I would get the job because I did not come from an English major and I felt somewhat unqualified. However, with some encouragement and determination, I applied to the Writing Center and got accepted as a writing tutor! I enjoy working here because of the student-centered atmosphere and inviting community/staff! I also enjoy learning with and from students and helping them to get to where they need to go (in terms of answering the necessary questions) to become better writers and independent learners.
One fun fact about me is I am an aunt to 18 nieces and nephews (and counting)! :)
