Teaching and Research Interests

Mrs. Besnard has taught secondary public education for nearly 20 years. Besnard is passionate about English Language Arts, Global Education, and Service Learning. She has participated in Global Education programs which have provided opportunities for international teaching, including in Indonesia. In addition, Besnard sits on the Board of Directors for Bright Light Volunteers, a non-profit organization committed to providing students with international service opportunities. Besnard has led groups of students on these educational service adventures around the globe, including Costa Rica, Cambodia, Peru, and Greece. Besnard has also been an active participant in the TEA (Teaching Excellence and Achievement) program for many years collaborating and mentoring teachers from around the globe.

Besnard is currently a lecturer for the Single Subject Program for the School of Education at CSU, Chico. She enjoys teaching Pedagogy courses and preparing future teachers for their profession.
