Biography

Dr. Kennedy has been an adjunct professor and student teacher Supervisor at the university level for over 32 years at both the graduate and undergraduate teacher preparation programs.  She has supervised teacher candidates for SPED, Multiple Subject and Single Subject at Chico State, Sacramento State, Chapman-Brandman University, University of Phoenix and Western Governors University.

At Chico State, Chapman-Brandman University, William Jessup University and University of Phoenix, she coordinated the placement of students for student teaching while serving as the Lead Supervisor in the field. Additionally, she has taught a number of courses for Master in Education programs at the University of Phoenix and the post-baccalaureate teacher preparation program at William Jessup University. Courses taught include teaching theory and practice, educational research and curriculum and methods courses for both the Multiple and Single subject curriculum. She taught the Health Education for Elementary Teachers (EDTE 450) for Chico State for several semesters as well. Her experience in the field of education has been at the university and K-12 levels in both public and private school settings.

She has been an administrator at the K-12 level, serving as an assistant principal at a public high school. There she was responsible for the supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff, curriculum development, expansion, and supervision of campus programs for students, and campus management including master scheduling, strategic budgeting, and hiring of personnel. Currently, she is serving as an adjunct professor for Chapman-Brandman University and Supervisor for student teachers at Chico State, Sacramento State and Western Governors University.

Throughout her career in education, she has had the opportunity to work closely with students, faculty and staff, and the local community.  She has been responsible for building bridges, providing leadership for change and growth, and developing ideas into viable programs.  She genuinely values the abilities of others and believes in working in partnership with them to accomplish educational goals.
