Biography

Vicki's current work is in the following areas: 1. supporting teacher candidates, schools, programs and staff in understanding that Special Education is a service not a place. 2. Transitioning the IEP process to an asset-based approach. 3. Inclusion and a sense of belonging for all students. 4. Person Centered Planning. 5. Not underestimating individuals with disabilities and 5 growth mindset. Resources that Vicki is using to support her work in these areas are current research, changing expectations at the state level, National Associations focused on Secondary Transition and the new teacher credential trunk.
