The following services are available to support prospective and current and prospective students, as well as school partners:
School of Education Services
Credential Services—The Credential Services office serves as the liaison between CSU, Chico and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). All final paperwork and credential recommendations are processed through this office.
CalTPA Information (PDF)—CalTPA is one of the final assessments completed by multiple subject and single subject credential candidates before they become teachers. All single subject and multiple subject credential candidates must complete this TPA. CalTPA is split up into two cycles, which can be submitted separately. Both must be passed.
Credential Advising—If you have a question about a credential program, whether you are a current or prospective student, please contact an advisor to have all of your questions answered.
Field Placement(opens in new window)—Every credential candidate is required to complete a student teaching field experience before earning a credential. Unless candidates are hired by a school district for an internship, the School of Education pairs candidates with qualified local K-12 teachers with whom these experiences can be completed.
Center for Bilingual/Multicultural Studies—The Center for Bilingual/Multicultural Studies offers additional support for credential candidates and teachers who work with linguistically and/or culturally diverse students.
CSU, Chico Services
Financial Aid—In addition to University, state, and federal financial aid options, credential candidates also have the opportunity to take advantage of grants, stipends, and scholarships offered through the School of Education.
