Chico State's School of Education has a goal of preparing significant numbers of educated, responsible people to contribute to California's schools, economy, culture, and future. Intern teachers serve an important role when qualified teachers are not available for hire. CSU Chico offers internships for all initial credential programs: Multiple Subjects, Single Subjects, and Education Specialist. The dramatic increase in teaching permits (PIP and STSP) issued in the past few years has created opportunities and challenges for individuals who hold Short-Term Staff Permits and Provisional Internship Permits.
