Chico State Student Support

Current CSU, Chico students may request MSTI support by completing our CSU, Chico Student MSTI Request for Services Form.

MSTI support services include:

  • Help getting one-on-one advising and support
  • Opportunities to be involved in early field experiences in teaching (i.e., tutoring, field trip facilitating, school site activities, etc.)
  • Professional development opportunities may be available (i.e., research, conference attendance, etc.) in conjunction with our Noyce Scholar Program and student clubs
  • **Financial support for CSET exams
  • Preparation resources for math and science CSETs
  • Financial Aid information for teacher candidates (Financial Aid Office)
  • TEACH Grant information
  • California Basic Skills Test (CBEST) and California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET) support, and CTC additional credential application fee**
  • CBEST & CSET preparation resources/materials
  • ** Reimbursement for Foundational-Level Mathematics (FLM) and Foundational-Level Science (FLGS) CSET exams
  • ** Reimbursement for adding a second credentials, both Foundational-Level and Single Subject

** Disclaimer:  A limited amount of funding is available for FLM/FLGS CSET exam fees each academic year. The awards are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to teacher candidates pursuing a Single Subject Credential in math or science. Requests for reimbursement are subject to review and approval by the Chico State Math and Science Teacher Initiative program.
