CalTPA is one of the final assessments completed by multiple subject and single subject credential candidates before they become teachers. All single subject and multiple subject credential candidates must complete this TPA. CalTPA is split up into two cycles, which can be submitted separately. Both must be passed.
CalTPA Passing Standard
The passing score standards for the redeveloped CalTPA as of August 23, 2019 are as follows:
- Cycle 1 (8 rubrics): 19 points with one score of 1 allowed.
- Cycle 2 (9 rubrics): 21 points with one score of 1 allowed.
We are waiting for guidance from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing for how students will proceed if they did not complete filming before the COVID-19 outbreak.
Camcorder Check-Out Information and Equipment Help
- The physical office is closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 outbreak and we will be delivering services via phone or online. If you are in current possession of camera equipment, this equipment can be returned by mail, or a time-certain appointment can be made by contacting the assessment analyst.
In order to mail your camera equipment and tripod, please utilize USPS priority mail and email your tracking number to pmdunlap@csuchico.edu to assist in the timely processing of your return.
