Vitalant Blood Drives
Staff Council helps coordinate monthly blood drives on campus, working with Vitalant. We encourage, staff, faculty and students to donate blood.
LOCATION UPDATE: The December 2 Blood Drive will be back in the BMU.
Appointments: Are requested and can be made by calling Vitalant at 530.893.5433 or going online to donors.vitalant.org(opens in new window) and entering Blood Drive Code SMFL003. Allow at least one hour for the donation process. Walk-ins are always welcome!

Vitalant is offering a free t-shirt to donors (JPG) and a free t-shirt to volunteers (JPG).

- All donors must present a photo ID or Donor Card.
- Please eat well and drink plenty of water prior to donating.
- Donors must be at least 17-years-old (16-year-olds with a Parent Consent Form). Minimum weight, 110 pounds and generally healthy - free from cold and flu symptoms.
- You will be asked to complete a Fast Track Health History the day of your donation at vitalant.org/health.
- Eligibility Guidelines have been changing, and it's a good idea to review them in advance to make sure you will be able to donate. Also, there can be CDC restrictions due to recent travel – if you have traveled outside the U.S. recently it's a good idea to call 800-289-4923 to find out if you are eligible to donate.
