'Cats Caught Being Awesome
Any Chico State staff employee is eligible to be nominated by any administrator, faculty, student, or staff peer. Staff Academic Award: The application period for the Fall 2024 Staff Academic Award is September 3-September 30. This $1,000 award is sponsored by the Chico State administration and the University Foundation Board of Governors, and we thank them for funding this award.- Visit our Staff Academic Award Page for more information(opens in new window)

Student Awards
Wildcat Sponsorship Award: The application period for Staff Council’s Wildcat Sponsorship Award will open in Spring 2025. This award offers a Chico State student organization $2000 for a purpose that is meaningful to the student organization. Staff Representation on University-Wide Committees: Staff Council encourages all staff members, including stateside, CSE, and AS staff employees to consider serving on university-wide committees. Every May, requests for seats to be filled are sent out using the shared governance participation request form. In the case that more requests come in than seats that are available, it will go to a vote of all staff council with the majority vote being recommended for appointment. Staff member recommendations are given to the University President for final appointment.Staff Council
Area Ambassadors: Staff representation on Staff Council are called Area Ambassadors. Staff represent 19 areas on campus. We currently have openings for additional Area Ambassadors, including Ambassadors-at-Large, who do not need to work in the are they represent.
