MPP 101: Supervising in a Union Environment (MPP Only)
| This course provides managers with an understanding of the unique challenges and responsibilities involved in managing represented employees within the CSU system. Connecting Work to Mission: Student Panel | For staff who do not interact with students on a daily basis, connecting their work to the mission may be challenging. Join us for a student panel discussion to learn about the Chico State student experience with a focus on the role staff members play. Collaborative Art Project (opens in new window) | Come get creative and connect with others in this fun, hands-on art session where you’ll découpage your very own ceramic coaster! We’ll provide everything you need: vintage Chico State publications, metallic pens, paint, and a variety of art supplies to help you design a unique piece that reflects your sense of community on campus. No art experience necessary. Just bring a pair of scissors. Each coaster will be sealed and finished for long-lasting use, but here’s the twist: Your finished coaster will be randomly sent to another participant, and you’ll receive one in return. Once you find out who received your art, consider meeting up for coffee to make a real world connection. Adobe Express 101: How to Use Chico State Branded Templates(opens in new window) | Need to make an on-brand flyer, presentation or social media graphic? We’vemade a suite of templates within Adobe Express that you can start from! In this hour-long webinar, you’ll learn the basics of what you can do with Adobe Express and how to access and customize files using Chico State branded templates. All faculty, staff and students may use this web-based app for no charge, through the University’s Adobe Enterprise license. The tutor will be demonstrating on-screen, so you won’t need to have your account setup yet for this webinar. Questions will be welcome throughout the tutorial. Principles of Supervision | Principles of Supervision is a CSU systemwide learning program designed for managers and supervisors who are either new to supervising others or already manage a team, but need a refresher. Normally offered in multiple sessions, totaling approx. 20 hours, this mini session has been condensed to 2 hours, and covers two essential sections of the series – Managing Performance and Motivation & Engagement.
