Accessibility Needs

Microsoft Office Suite
Microsoft offers Office 365 Education to all students with a valid school email address.

The Chico State Writing Center Provides Live Zoom Tutoring
The Chico State Writing Center provides all students the opportunity to receive writing assistance using Zoom. These live sessions are perfect for students who need assistance with:

  • Understanding and meeting writing assignment requirements
  • Planning and getting started on a writing assignment
  • Discussing ideas and helping to develop them
  • Helping to set and meet priorities for revision

Zoom tutoring is offered both by appointment and drop-in:

  • Appointments: To schedule a Zoom appointment, please call the Student Learning Center at (530) 898-6839. Appointments are guaranteed 1-hour tutoring sessions scheduled at least a day in advance.
    • Appointments can also be scheduled to recur weekly, allowing students to work with the same tutor every week throughout the semester.
  • Drop-In: To access Zoom online drop-in, go to the Writing Center webpage and click on “Drop-In for a Virtual Session (Zoom)” and follow the directions. Drop-in sessions are same-day, 30-minute sessions that are on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Writing Center also provides an Online Feedback Submission service:

  • To utilize this service, visit the Writing Center website and click on “Submit My Draft for Feedback.” Feedback will be provided by 2-3 writing tutors and is limited to the first 5 pages of an assignment.
    Submissions will be returned via email within 3-5 business days.

Meriam Library
The Meriam Library offers many online resources. From Ask a Librarian services to Databases A–Z, students can directly contact the subject librarian most relevant to their assignment or research. Email is the best way to initiate contact, and librarians can schedule phone or Zoom appointments.

Chico State Career Center
Regardless of where you live during your time as a student, all students have access to resources from the Career Center. Online students can schedule appointments to discuss career planning, review resumes and cover letters, and find internships or job opportunities in their local area.

Zoom
All students, faculty, and staff have Zoom Pro access. Students use Zoom for classes, student services, study groups, and collaboration. Activate your Chico State Zoom account.

WellCat Counseling Center
Psychological counseling and consultation are available to all Chico State students 24/7 by calling 530-898-6345. Students can also participate in a variety of group counseling programs.

During regular business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.), students may call the WellCat Counseling Center to utilize crisis services. After hours, counselors are available by phone for brief consultation. Additional information is available on the WellCat Counseling Center webpage.

Health Center Services
The WellCat Health Center strives to assist students with diverse healthcare needs. Services include primary care, acute care, reproductive health services, immunizations, pharmacy services, laboratory services, and more.

Students can register for TimelyCare, a 24/7 telehealth service that extends campus health resources. Read more about Telehealth TimelyCare for students.

TimelyCare benefits include convenient 24/7 care, reduced wait times, a diverse provider network, and secure HIPAA-compliant services designed to support student well-being.

If you live near another California State University campus, you may also access the Student Health Center at that campus if your tuition includes the health services fee. Your Student Center has your fee breakdown that you can check to see if your online program includes the health fee. 

Financial Wellness Clinic
The Financial Wellness Clinic provides information and guidance on budgeting, credit scores, student loan repayment, retirement planning, and other personal finance topics.

If you are experiencing financial stress, you can book an appointment with a financial planner or para-planner to discuss your situation and develop a financial plan.

Basic Needs
The Basic Needs Program assists students experiencing food insecurity and homelessness.

CalFresh
Chico State CalFresh can help students apply for benefits, recertify cases, and answer CalFresh-related questions.

Chico State Associated Students
Associated Students invites all students to participate in government affairs meetings, councils, and committees. Learn more about opportunities to get involved and help shape student programs and services.

Wellbeing App from The Well
The Well partners with Insight Timer, a wellbeing app focused on sleep, stress management, mindfulness, and personal growth.

Getting Started with Insight Timer
1. Download the app from Insight Timer.
2. Create an account.
3. Select the Profile button.
4. Choose Workplace and enter your @csuchico.edu email address.

University Student Announcements
Daily Student Announcements are emailed to all Chico State students and provide information about campus events, opportunities, and resources.

New Student Parent Group – Chico State Students with Children
The Student Parent Group meets monthly to discuss the unique challenges faced by students caring for minors. Participants can connect with fellow student parents and learn about resources related to nutrition, housing, wellness, basic needs, and financial assistance.

Priority Registration for Students with Dependents

Did you know you may qualify for Priority Registration if you support children under the age of 18?

How to Qualify

1. Confirm Your Eligibility – Log in to your student portal and go to the Chico State Portal.

2. Verify Your Dependent Status – Select "Dependents" and confirm that you provide more than half of the support for at least one child under 18.

3. Click Submit

Additional Services

Visit Basic Needs and select Resources, then Services for Student Parents.

Available resources include:

  • Additional services for student caregivers
