Study Abroad & Exchange

Cecilia Lapolli

USAC & AIFS Advisor

Cecilia Lapolli is a firm believer that discovering the world through human interaction, culture, languages, and travel is the essence to living a great life. She developed a love for central and south America after having spent a semester abroad with USAC in Santiago, Chile where she became fluent in Spanish and studied literature. Upon her return to Chico state, she became involved with the study abroad office as the Latin America Peer Advisor. She got a severe case of the travel bug, and planned a trip to the northeast of Brazil (independently), where she immediately discovered a new country that she fell in love with. Her senior year of college, she became the International Intern Coordinator where she was able to connect study abroad alumni and international students on campus. In her last week at Chico state, she received an offer to work for the USAC program in Brazil. A yearlong commitment turned into 3 years living on the beautiful island of Florianopolis, where she gained experience in international education, fluency in Portuguese, traveled extensively, and discovered her passion for health.

Cecilia received her bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies and a minor in Health Science Education. Now, Cecilia is the Study Abroad Advisor for USAC & AIFS at Chico State. She is thrilled to be back in the Chico community, hiking on the weekends or riding her bike through Bidwell park. She is back and ready to inspire students to go abroad and create their incredible life changing experience!
