Diab Thor

Advisor, Study Abroad & Exchange
AIFS, Faculty-Led Programs & USAC

Diab (she/her) grew up in Oroville, California, and is a proud first-generation Chico State alumna. She earned a B.S. in Nutrition and Food Science with a concentration in Communication, as well as a minor in Spanish. During her undergraduate studies, Diab spent a year studying abroad in Costa Rica through USAC, living in two cities: Heredia and San Ramón. This experience sparked her passion for language, travel, and cross-cultural connections. While at Chico State, she also worked as a Program Assistant and Peer Advisor in the Study Abroad & Exchange Office, where she helped fellow students navigate academic requirements, cultural adjustments, and the excitement of studying abroad.

After graduation, Diab set off on what was originally intended as a gap year, which turned into five years abroad, living and working in Asia and Australia. During this time, she supported international communities through roles in education, hospitality, and administration. Fluent in English and Hmong, and conversational in Spanish, Diab loves helping students explore new experiences and discover the transformative value of global learning. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, traveling, and hiking.
