Viviana grew up on a small farm in Colusa, CA before coming to Chico to pursue her undergraduate studies. During her sophomore year, she studied abroad in San Ramon, Costa Rica for a semester with her twin sister through USAC. There she interned at a local hospital, observing surgeries and practicing physical therapy with patients.
Upon her return, Viviana joined the Study Abroad & Exchange Office at Chico State as a Peer Advisor and International Wildcat Mentor. She also worked with Orientation and New Student Programs as a Peer Advisor, Senior Orientation Leader and Student Coordinator.
After graduation, Viviana became a Program Advisor for Chico State Upward Bound mentoring first-generation/low-income students. Now, she is thrilled to return to the office as an advisor, eager to support students from all backgrounds in pursuing their own transformational experiences through Study Abroad & Exchange. Currently, Viviana is pursuing a Master of Arts in International Education Management and enjoys spending her free time with family or traveling the world.
