Coffee with Global Trotters 10 AM - 2 PM

Grab some coffee and snacks, and get ready to hear stories from abroad and away! Meet study abroad alumni, connect with program representatives (USAC, CSUIP, AIFS & NSE), chat with our team, and get answers to your study abroad/away questions IRL (in real life).

Open the Door to the World for Students 9 AM - 10 PM

Faculty are welcome to come learn about short-term global experiences from WorldStrides, an ally of Chico State. WorldStrides will explore how to create an educational experience abroad that aligns with faculty learning objectives.

  • Study Abroad 101 Day

    Study Abroad 101 Session 4 PM - 5 PM

    Join us for one of our weekly Study Abroad 101 sessions to learn about the programs we offer.  Once you have attended a 101 session, you will able to schedule a one-on-one meeting with a study abroad advisor. 

    Missed the session on Study Abroad 101 Day?  No problem!  Study Abroad 101 sessions are offered virtually every week except for holidays, dead week, and finals:

    Tuesdays from 4–5 p.m.
    Thursdays from 11 a.m.–noon
    Fridays from 2–3 p.m.

    Welcome Event: Coffee Meet & Greet

    Join Study Abroad & Exchange Alumni, Study Abroad Program Affiliates and Team Study Abroad & Exchange for our "Affiliate Day" kick-off event.  Bring your warm beverage of choice to our Coffee Meet & Greet and get ready to hear stories from abroad, join us for a virtual game (or two) and get answers to your study abroad questions during this informal event!     CSU IP Partner Session

    Since its inception in 1963, the CSU International Programs, a systemwide department operating from within the CSU Chancellor's Office in Long Beach, California, has contributed to this effort by providing qualified students an affordable opportunity to continue their studies abroad for a full academic year.     AIFS & GE Partner Session

    NSE Partner Session

    National Student Exchange was founded in 1968 and provides students with the unique opportunity to study at another institution in the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.   • Scholarships & Overseas Teaching Day

    Peace Corps & Fulbright Session

    The Peace Corps is a service opportunity for motivated changemakers to immerse themselves in a community abroad, while the Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or for English Teaching Assistant Programs.

    Join us as we discover how these programs could help provide you a transformative cultural experience that will further develop your professional and academic goals.

    Gilman Scholarship Session

    The Gilman Scholarship Program broadens the student population that studies and interns abroad by supporting undergraduates who might not otherwise participate due to financial constraints.  The program aims to encourage students to study and intern in a diverse array of countries or areas and world regions.

  • Alumni Student Panel Day

    "What I Wish I Knew" Student Panel

    What is the best program for me? How will I meet local students? What should I pack!? Do you have any tips for first-time travelers? These are just a few of the questions you may be asking yourself.

    There are countless questions that revolve around a study abroad experience. Our panelists will provide advice on what to consider when selecting a program, how to prepare to go abroad, tips for first time travelers, information for 1st Gen students and students of color, as well as their personal experiences while studying in their host country. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists during the session.

    "Standing Out to Employers: How Study Abroad Can Help" Student Panel

    One of the most common questions we get in our office from Alumni is “How do I incorporate Study Abroad onto my Resume?” Come join Study Abroad & Exchange in collaboration with the Chico State Career Center(opens in new window) as we talk with a few of our study abroad alumni and hear about the types of skills they have gained through Study Abroad and how their overseas experiences have enhanced their resume.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists during the session.
