CSU, Chico has long been a sustainability trailblazer. President Paul J. Zingg was a founding signatory of the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment. The campus plans to be climate neutral by 2030.

The Institute for Sustainable Development helps guide CSU, Chico's strong commitment to balancing human, social, cultural, and economic needs with the natural environment. 

Associated Students

Chico State's Associated Students is well known for its highly effective sustainability programs such as AS Recycling, which collects more than 600,000 pounds of recyclables each year.
