Michele joined the School of Social Work in the Fall of 2020. Her interests focus on human rights and social justice related to reproductive justice; environmental racism/justice, Indigenous and women’s rights; globalization/Latin America; resistance, and critical social work.

In addition, Michele has experience working with adolescents and women in a variety of settings, such as street outreach, community health clinics, outpatient and day treatment programs, and schools and colleges. She has taught both graduate and undergraduate courses in social work and women, gender, and sexuality studies.

Lastly, Michele is a documentary filmmaker, producing multiple shorts on gender-based violence and environmental and human rights abuses, the producer of the Eugene Environmental Film Festival, and is currently working on a book manuscript on reproductive justice in Chile.
