Office of Tribal Relations
Vision
Establish a comprehensive office for Native students, staff, faculty, community, and Tribal governments that includes Chico State and its auxiliaries to recognize Tribal sovereignty and foster a sense of belonging in higher education as well as a sustained distinct spiritual affinity with place.
Purpose
The Office of Tribal Relations connects the Chico State campus and auxiliaries with Native American students to provide access, social, emotional, and academic support. Establish government-to-government partnerships with Tribes as well to facilitate early and meaningful consultation. Provide resources and assistance to projects and services led by tribes. We aim to shape culturally sustaining, contributing individuals of Native communities and support Tribal enterprises through traditional knowledge and decolonial praxis.
