Chico State Class Visits

Screenprint Biennial

With a collection of 4,000+ prints from the 17th century to today, the Turner is a rich resource for Chico State students and faculty. We offer free class visits during the academic year, where students can view a selection of prints in the archive and/or receive a guided tour of the current exhibition.

To sign up for a class visit, please review the information below and then fill out the Class Visit Form at least two weeks in advance. You'll then receive an email to confirm details and schedule your visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Instructors can select from three options:

  • Archive visit - 1 hour (View a selection of prints from the collection)
  • Gallery visit - 1 hour (Guided exhibition tour)
  • Both - 1 hour (30 minutes in the archive, 30 minutes in the gallery)

When can I schedule a class visit?

Class visits are available Tuesday-Thursday, 9-5pm during the academic year. If you are interested in a gallery tour, please check our exhibition calendar to make sure your visit falls during a scheduled exhibition.

How many students can you accommodate?

We can accommodate 25 students in the archive and 40 students in the gallery, with rotations if needed.

Who selects the prints for the archive visit?

Instructors can view our online collection and send a selection of prints in advance, or work with Turner staff to select relevant prints. We recommend a selection of 10-25 prints.

I'm not familiar with printmaking or art history. Can I still bring my class?

Absolutely! Turner staff will work with you to tailor the visit to your class topics.
