Nexo Entre Raices

Nexo Entre Raíces | Nexus Between Roots

September 2-December 13, 2025 

Nexo Entre Raíces | Nexus Between Roots brings together thirty-three contemporary artists working on either side of the US-Mexico border. Through powerful and timely prints, this exhibition explores how our cultural roots shape and define us. Organized by artist Marco Sánchez, Nexo Entre Raíces has traveled to the National Hispanic Cultural Center, Kent State University, and the El Paso Museum of Art and will be shown for the first time in California at The Turner.

Pressing Poetry: From Broadsides to Book Arts

January 20-March 14, 2026 

This exhibition explores the intersections of poetry and printmaking in the Turner collection. Discover work by over 20 poets, including Gwendolyn Brooks, Billy Collins, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Allen Ginsberg, Naomi Shihab Nye, Anne Sexton and more. Featuring letterpress printing, illustrated books, and contemporary broadsides, prepare to be delighted by the poetic art of print.

2026 Printmaking Juror

Leyla Rzayeva

Leyla Jamil Rzayeva is a first generation American artist born to Azerbaijani and Russian parents. She takes inspiration from theatrical productions to look at spectatorship and gaze. Leyla works with installation, photography, sculpture and printmaking to create spaces of perception and transformation with a focus on the Bay Area, Caucasus, West and Central Asia. Leyla is a Graduate Teaching Associate at San Francisco State University and Artist Residency Manager at Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, CA. Her work has been exhibited at Berkeley Art Center, Root Division, the de Young Museum, Skyline College, and 500 Capp Street Spring Invitational.
