Join us as This Way to Resilience opens with Bonfire Storytelling, featuring members of the Butte Resilience Collaborative(opens in new window). Through powerful personal stories of recovery, adaptation, and hope, community members will share what resilience looks like in the North State, from wildfire recovery to everyday acts of connection and renewal.  An evening of shared experience and inspiration, this event celebrates the strength and creativity that emerge when we face challenges together.

“Resilience is not an individual effort—it’s something we do together,” said faculty event organizer Dr. Mark Stemen (Economics, ’91), environmental studies professor and longtime advocate for climate action. “Regardless of your background, your engagement is crucial in shaping a sustainable future.”
