"Take Back Your Life"

We train our diverse team of student interns to lead our presentation that introduces the campus community to mental health, signs of mental struggles, how to take care of themselves, and how to identify and help their friends.

Presentations last around 30-45 minutes, and include videos, time for discussion, and questions from the audience. These presentations use crowd participation and group discussion to assure understanding from students. It also touches on topics such as suicide and depression.

We give this presentation a few times in an open setting for anyone to attend (dates TBA).  UMatter can also provide this presentation as guest speakers in classrooms and organization/club meetings on campus. They are available to be scheduled on a first come, first served basis.

Our "TBYL" presentations are empowering and inspiring. They help teach students how to focus on their emotions and check in with their mental state- in order to succeed in and out of the classroom. Students learn tools like boundaries, self care, warning signs of mental health, and even how to reach out to a friend in need.

Please email us at our events email : Umatter.events@csuchico.edu with a date and time that you would like a presentation. Our staff will then connect with you about available time slots that our interns can present. *Please email us about 2 weeks before the desired date of presentation.
