University Police

Report a Crime

If you are the victim or witness to a crime, please contact the University Police Department directly. Prompt reporting of any suspicious activity can help us prevent further crimes, apprehend suspects, and provide accurate data for federally mandated statistical reporting. Most importantly, prompt reporting will help University Police maintain a safe and secure campus environment.

In an Emergency

Dial 9-1-1 to report an emergency, crime, or suspicious activity.

Be prepared to answer the following questions:

  • What is your location?
  • What is the number you are calling from?
  • What is your emergency?
  • What is currently happening?
  • Is anyone in need of medical assistance?
  • Is anyone in danger now?
  • How many suspects are involved?
  • What did the suspect look like?

Please listen carefully and follow any directions given by the dispatcher. Stay on the phone until the dispatcher tells you to hang up.

Non-Emergency Calls

For non-emergency assistance, dial 530-898-5555.

Blue Light Phones

Emergency and non-emergency calls can also be made from campus blue light phones. For more information, read about our blue light phones or view the blue light phone map (PDF).
