Emergency Calls

To report a crime, incident, or suspicious activity:

  1. Dial 9-1-1 
  2. Be prepared to answer the following questions: 
    • What is your location? 
    • What is the number you are calling from?
    • What is your emergency?
    • What is currently happening? 
  3. LISTEN CAREFULLY and DO EXACTLY what the dispatcher asks you to do.
  4. Answer his/her questions with accurate and up-to-date information
  5. Stay on the phone until the Dispatcher tells you to hang up

Blue Light Phones

Emergencies can also be reported by using one of the Blue Light Phones located throughout the campus.

Please dial 530-898-5555. You can also report a crime at the University Police Department located at the corner of West 2nd and Chestnut Streets.
