
Amy Kee Scholarship

Purpose
The Amy Kee scholarship was established to provide financial support to an Upward Bound graduating senior who exemplifies excellence in pursuit of higher education.
Awards
This year, one $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating Upward Bound senior. Funds will be disbursed upon the recipient submitting to Upward Bound proof of full-time enrollment at any two-year or four-year college.
Eligibility
Award applicants must meet the following criteria:
* Graduating senior of Upward Bound at California State University, Chico
* Attending an accredited two-year or four-year college directly after high school graduation
* A minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.50
Essay
Applicants must submit a two-page (double-spaced, 12 font size) typed essay explaining the following:
- How has Upward Bound supported you in overcoming obstacles toward your educational and/or career goals? What are 2 takeaways you have learned from Upward Bound that you will take with you into college?
Recommendation
Applicants must submit one letter of recommendation from one of the following professionals: teacher, counselor, or community leader. Recommendations from Upward Bound staff members will not be accepted. The recommendation letter should address the applicant's academic potential for success at a two-year or four-year college, unique personal characteristics, and need for financial support.
