- Approval letter codes must be attached to a benefit certification and submitted through the Chico State portal
- Approval letter codes apply only to System-wide Mandatory Tuition
- Campus Mandatory Fees are not waived and are due by the tuition & campus fee payment deadline
- Eligibility for this program is established by a County Veterans Service Office (CVSO)
- Eligibility must be re-established for each subsequent academic year the student plans on attending Chico State
- Approval letter codes processed after the payment deadline will generate a refund for any tuition paid out-of-pocket
- Self-supported summer and winter sessions charge extension fees that are not waived
- Any per-unit fee charged by Professional and Continuing Education (PCE) for enrollment are extension fees and not waived
- Any self-supported degree program offered through PCE is not waived
- Students eligible for Cal Vet, Cal Grant A, State University Grant, and financial aid that is specifically designated to cover System-wide Mandatory Tuition may only receive one per semester
- Approval letter codes must be processed before or during the current academic year
- Example, 2025-26 approval letter codes must be processed by 06.30.2026
- Approval letter codes can not be retroactively applied
- There is no prohibition against a child of a Veteran receiving Cal Vet concurrently with Dependents' Educational Assistance benefits
