Student Learning Fees Award Allocations

May 16, 2018
Debra S. Larson, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

The review process for the 2018-2019 Student Learning Fee (SLF) proposals has been completed.

Please see the SLF website for information regarding the award allocation.

A total of $825,000 will be awarded to 52 proposals in eight colleges/units out of over 100 proposals of nearly $1,901,114.  I regret that many worthy proposals were not able to be funded.

Please see the SLF website at: for a wealth of information regarding the SLF process at Chico State. The site includes resources such as past awards, links to Executive Memorandum 11-045, the Chancellor’s Office Executive Orders pertaining to student fees, and guidelines for submitting proposals and spending awards.

The SLF review process is thorough and consists of three levels:  college committee, college dean, and the Campus Fee Advisory Committee (CFAC).  I relied heavily on the results of the CFAC process. I am particularly impressed and thankful for the CFAC student representatives’ efforts in evaluating the SLF proposals and taking their responsibility seriously.  Thank you.

I also want to thank everyone who participated in the SLF process. I look forward to the impact funded SLF projects will make on student success on our campus.

Happy Commencement!

Thank you.
