Fall 2020 Grading Policy Communication

Please review the following communication from President Hutchinson regarding Fall 2020 grading:

Upon the recommendation of the Academic Senate Executive Committee, President Gayle Hutchinson has approved the following grading policy change effective for the fall 2020 semester.

Students will be permitted to drop courses without chair or dean signatures and without “serious and compelling reasons” until December 11, 2020. The change extends the drop date by 11 weeks from week 4 to week 15. (Note:  this differs from spring 2020 adjustment in requiring instructor signature.) 

None of the other grading changes, effective in spring 2020, will be enacted for the fall.
