International Friendship/Host Family Program

May 16, 2018
Frank Li, Interim Associate Vice President & SIO, Office of International Education

Help make Chico State a welcoming, cosmopolitan community by volunteering to connect with international students. The Office of International Education is matching faculty/staff volunteer hosts with international students to promote cross-cultural friendships and global understanding. (This is not a home-stay program.)

As a faculty/staff host, you can help a young student, who is far from home, feel welcome to and connect with our lovely city and amazing campus community. From this enriching experience, you can also learn more about the customs and culture from a different part of the world.

Busy schedule? No problem! There are two levels of commitment in the program. You can sign up for one activity only (if you like it, sign up again) or you can elect to meet the same student once a month for the duration of a semester.

As Humphrey Bogart said, "I think this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

Thank you all very much for your help.
