Dr. Frank Li Retirement

February 27, 2018
Debra S. Larson, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Dr. Frank Li, Interim Associate Vice President for International Education and Senior International Officer has announced his retirement, effective August of 2018.  He will rejoin the faculty of the Department of English as a FERP faculty.

Dr. Li has been in his current position since returning from CSU, Sacramento in 2016 where he served as Associate Vice President for International Programs and Global Engagement from 2015-2016. Prior to this, Dr. Li was the Director of International Education and Senior International Officer at Chico State from 2011-2015. He has also served as the interim director for International Education (2010-11), director of the Honors Program (2009-2011), and faculty in the Department of English (1993-2009).

We greatly appreciate Dr. Li’s many contributions and service to our campus. He was instrumental in the development of the University Internationalization Plan (2010-2015) as well as the current International Education Enrollment Plan, and has been an excellent representative for Chico State for a vast array of international matters. During the 2011-2015 period, OIE experienced many successes with growth in international enrollment, study abroad participation, bilateral partnerships, and international training programs. Dr. Li’s expertise has been valued and will be missed.

Please join me in congratulating Frank Li on his retirement and wishing him well in his future endeavors.
