Student success at Chico State has never been more important than it is right now. As we face unprecedented challenges including food and housing insecurity, mental wellness, and lasting effects of adverse childhood experiences, the Camp Fire has presented new obstacles. Together, we will rise and unite to help our students succeed. We welcome your insight and inspiration at the Tipping Point Student Success Summit on January 17, 2019. This is the first academic workday for faculty in the Spring 2019 semester, and departments have been asked to avoid scheduling meetings that day if at all possible. The summit will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Following an opening plenary featuring President Hutchinson, you are encouraged to participate in data-informed sessions throughout the day to explore topics such as

  • Mental Wellness: A Trauma-informed Campus. What’s My Role?
  • What Do Our Changing Student Demographics Mean...for teaching, and everything else?
  • Inclusive Teaching: What is it? How do I do it?
  • Lessons from Maslow: Basic Needs and Student Success

Reserve your spot today to attend these sessions and more. A free continental breakfast and lunch will be available to attendees. To assist in our planning, please register here by Monday, December 10. All faculty and staff are encouraged to participate.

For more information, check out the Tipping Point website or email Kate McCarthy or Chela Patterson.

We look forward to your participation!
