After much thought and consideration, Dr. Robert Knight has decided to resign his position as Dean of the College of Humanities and Fine Arts effective May 25 and return to the faculty in the Department of Music and Theatre.

“It has been my great pleasure to serve as the dean of HFA since fall 2013,” stated Knight.  “I am proud of our many accomplishments during that time.”

I want to thank Dr. Knight for his efforts in facilitating the completion and move of HFA faculty, staff, and programs to the new Arts building, as well as his work on recent philanthropic gifts, the ceramics lab, and the Tolliver paintings –all that will go a long way in educating our students.

I will work with the department chairs and associate dean in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts in the near future to determine our next steps, including the identification of an interim dean.
