Leadership Change – College of Business

February 23, 2018
Debra S. Larson, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

As announced last week, Judy Hennessey is retiring from her position as dean of the College of Business. After consultation with a number of stakeholders, I have asked Kenneth Chapman to serve as the Interim Dean for the college.

Dr. Chapman began his academic career at Chico State in 1995 as a visiting professor and returned in 2001 as an associate professor in the Department of Finance and Marketing. He attained national recognition for the development and implementation of the College of Business’ (COB) assurance of learning program from 2005-2011.

As director of the MBA program from 2011-2014, Dr. Chapman was instrumental in leading efforts to develop new courses and new programs.  He has been the associate dean for the past four years and has helped the college through three successful AACSB accreditations. Dr. Chapman obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado, Boulder and his MBA from the University of Southern California.

Please join me in welcoming Ken Chapman into his new role as dean of the College of Business.

We have already taken steps to kick off a national search for a new dean of Business. More information will be forthcoming.
