Academic Affairs' Staff Changes

August 24, 2018
Debra S. Larson, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

I would like to share news of two reassignments of the Institute of Sustainable Development (ISD) staff. Effective September 10, Teri Randolph will transition to the role of assistant to the director for the Regenerative Agriculture Initiative (RAI), and Fletcher Alexander will serve as sustainability programs manager within the unit of Facilities Management and Services (FMS). Teri and Fletcher will continue to work on their sustainability-related activities. Refocusing Teri's and Fletcher's expertise and strengths will help us continue to strengthen Chico State's progress toward a more sustainable campus and to broaden our portfolio of sustainability-related educational activities. RAI and FMS are committed to fulfilling the important and necessary sustainability initiatives carried out by the ISD.

I intend to consult with the Academic Senate per the Interim EM for Oversight of Ancillary Units (EM #18-018) later this semester. I welcome ideas from the faculty and colleges for engaging with the ISD to create a self-sustaining structure. Similarly, RAI will propose a new “Center for Regenerative Agriculture and Resilient Systems” with a continued commitment to our sustainability efforts in the built environment and our well-known conference “This Way to Sustainability.”

Sustainability is one of the University's strategic priorities, and we are no less committed to it with this change. Rather, we hope this will lead to an enhancement of our overall efforts, strengthen our commitments and resolve, and create greater opportunities for partnerships, funding, and improvements to campus.
