Academic Scheduling Office (ASO)

The Academic Scheduling Office (ASO) provides department support and coordination in class scheduling and works with academic departments to:

  • Maximize classroom usage;
  • Ensure that classes meet for the required number of hours. Refer to the list of Course Classification (CS number) to determine required meeting time and WTU;
  • Ensure that classes are scheduled according to the campus Standard Scheduling Convention, a matrix of times and days that classes can be offered;
  • Set aside reserved seating within specialized class sections.
  • To request a non-standard meeting pattern, refer to the guide in Box or contact ASO (aso@csuchico.edu).

Helpful Tools

Ad Astra Schedule

Astra Schedule is a web-based, enterprise-class scheduling and calendaring system that coordinates rooms for all classes, final exams, and events in our campus facilities.

All campus employees have view access of the General Use Conference and Lecture Room Calendars by clicking the “Log into Astra” button. If you need more than view access to Astra, please click the “Ask for Access” button and submit a security request. Training is required before access will be granted.

Help Guides

Academic Schedulers can find guides in Box (for internal use only). Guest users should visit the Facilities Reservations and Event Services website for assistance.

If you are having trouble with Astra, click the “Request Help” button above and submit a ticket describing your issue. Screenshots of the immediate issue will be helpful.

Room Request Application

Use the ASO Room Request Application while requesting rooms during Rounds I and II of schedule building. Academic Schedulers can find guides in Box on how to use the ASO Room Request web application form.
