Institutional Accountability

CSU, Chico has committed itself to "being fully accountable to the people of the State of California" by creating an accountability environment that is linked to its vision, mission, values and strategic priorities as well as to the fundamental policy goals of the CSU's Access to Excellence Plan. Indeed, the integration of an effective system of accountability into the fabric of institutional planning and resource allocation is an essential element of the CSU, Chico Strategic Plan.

At the institutional level, Chico has committed to providing data on student learning, student engagement, and enrollment and graduation as part of its accountability initiatives. The campus joined other CSU campuses in participating in the national accountability effort called the Voluntary System of Accountability.

CSU, Chico also participates in the California State University's Access to Excellence Accountability Plan. Under this Plan, the campus will report on a series of performance indicators that will demonstrate progress toward the broad system-level commitments as well as its own strategic priorities and goals.

CSU, Chico sees these forms of performance accountability as a means of "informing the public about the performance of the Chico campus" as well as "an opportunity to show commitment to continued progress."
