  Web Governance Policy

The purpose of this policy is to define a unified web policy that all University and University-affiliated websites shall follow regarding web standards, branding, accessibility, security, maintenance, compliance, and enforcement.

Welcome to the University Web Standards Guide, a compilation of resources designed to enable creativity on the web while maintaining consistency in brand and user experience. For a more complete guide to communicating on behalf of the University, see the University Communicators Guide.

Most of these resources are is designed specifically for web content creators in Cascade, our central web content management system (WCMS). All campus web content creators who go through Cascade training agree to follow the guidelines in the Campus Web Site-Maintainers Agreement.

Graphic Standards for Web

Sites built within the WCMS adhere to these standards to ensure accessibility, visual consistency, and ease of use. Web Services will provide CSS files for official university web applications or non-WCMS and vendor
websites upon request.

University Writing Style

This guide will help you determine CSU, Chico's standards for punctuation, capitalization, abbreviations, and much more. University style is based on the Chicago Manual of Style and Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.
