Tomoko Ha, Founding Member"The Chico State Women’s Philanthropy Council is a wonderful opportunity for alumni, students, faculty, and staff from all backgrounds to come together to enhance the Chico State community. We encourage and assist students and alumnae to excel in their professional and personal lives. As a founding member, I look forward to supporting our programs that inspire women to lead, succeed, and help others."

Women are the future of philanthropy. When we come together, sharing our knowledge and resources, we have the power to effect significant, positive change.

As a member of the Chico State Women’s Philanthropy Council (WPC), your unique role as a high-level volunteer, philanthropist, and programming partner, is so greatly appreciated. WPC members draw upon their expertise and resources to network with each other and campus leaders to mentor students and to give back to the University. As a community, we make a direct impact by investing together in the people and transformational work of Chico State.

Annual membership gifts support programs that reflect the vision of the Women’s Philanthropy Council. The membership commitment is a personal annual gift of $1,500, with a three-year pledge. By giving together, our gifts go further and have greater influence. Members review a selection of projects and vote on how the combined funds will be designated to directly benefit our Chico State community.

Chico State Women’s Philanthropy Council members enjoy opportunities to

  • Serve the Chico State community
  • Mentor the next generation of female leaders and philanthropists
  • Participate in networking events with a group of dynamic women
  • Receive advance notice of openings to serve on campus boards and advisory groups
  • Help plan and attend the bi-annual Chico State Women’s Philanthropy Council event

WPC members interact with a distinguished group of faculty leaders as well as students at the start of their college careers through graduation and beyond. Currently, there are four annual membership meetings with President Hutchinson, as well as other events, meetings, and communications through the year.

The strength of the Chico State Women’s Philanthropy Council is contingent on our members—will you join our growing numbers and play a significant role in shaping the future of Chico State? We hope so!
