John Kirsch is an editor for a publishing company in Mexico City. Before moving to Mexico he was a newspaper reporter in Iowa, his native state, and Texas. His primary influences as a photographer are Walker Evans and Robert Frank. He has studied photography at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and the University of Iowa and Drake University in Des Moines, IA. As well, he has a BA in journalism from Drake University, and an Associate in Applied Arts degree in Photography from Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, IA. His photographs have been published in The Adirondack Review, Buffalo Almanack, The Ofi Press Magazine and Blue Mesa Review, among other publications.
