The first-ever Wildcat Cruise, a leisurely bike ride through downtown Chico and Lower Bidwell Park, will begin at 10 a.m. this Saturday, Oct. 5, as part of California State University, Chico’s fourth annual Chico Experience Week.

You don’t have to own a Wildcat Cruiser to participate, though if you do, the ride will offer a great chance to join with other owners in a special event. If you do not yet own a limited edition Wildcat Cruiser but would like to, it’s not too late—a few remain. For more information, visit www.wildcatcruiser.com.

The bike’s designer, Chico State alumnus Jake Early, will grand marshal the cruise, which will begin and end at CSU, Chico’s Bell Memorial Union (West Second and Chestnut streets). Participants will first take a group photo and then be on their way to celebrate the joy of bicycling through Chico. To register for the free Wildcat Cruise, visit the event page.

The ride will end about noon, and all are welcome to attend the Family Weekend BBQ directly following on the lawn near Yolo Hall. Tickets for the barbecue must be purchased in advance on the Alumni Association website or by calling the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations at 530-898-6472.

Chico Experience Week, Oct. 4–13, includes nearly 100 events on campus and in the community for alumni, students, their families and anyone who loves Chico. The event is sponsored by the Chico State Alumni Association and is a collaboration among campus groups and local organizations and businesses.
