University Hosts West’s Largest Collegiate Sales Competition April 24-25

Hosted by the College of Business’s Professional Sales Program since 2009, the WSCSC is the only multi-university sales competition in the western United States. Preparation for the contest begins in February each year, when students at each university participate in training sessions hosted by corporate sponsors. The competition culminates in a series of live sales scenarios at CSU, Chico. The 12-minute “role plays,” along with prerecorded sales presentations, are judged by representatives from the program’s corporate partners.
An opening reception and corporate mixer will be held April 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Colusa Hall. Sales scenarios take place in the Student Services Center (SSC) throughout the day on April 25. The program ends with an awards banquet for students, faculty and platinum-level partners at 7 p.m. in Colusa Hall.
Universities competing in the 2014 WSCSC are Arizona State University; Ball State University; Baylor University; California State University, Chico; California State University, Fullerton; Georgia State University; Oregon State University; San Diego State University; University of San Diego; University of Central Oklahoma; University of Texas, Dallas; and Washington State University, Vancouver.
CSU, Chico’s Professional Sales Program provides students with practical sales experience and opportunities to test their skills against students from other leading business schools. Students may earn a certificate in professional sales, highlighting their expertise in professional selling and differentiating them their peers.
