Business schools were ranked in five categories by Eduniversal, a Paris-based educational consulting organization. The initiative was led by the human resource and student orientation consultancy firm SMBG to provide parents, students and employers with information about the world’s best business programs.
Some of the other universities in the Excellent Business School category are Syracuse University, University of Oregon, University of Missouri, Claremont Graduate University, UC Riverside and San Diego State, which was ranked first. The only other CSU campus ranked in this category was CSU, Long Beach at 17th.
Last year, CSU, Chico was ranked 21st in the same category and was 50th in 2008. Eduniversal notified College of Business Dean Willie Hopkins of the college’s new ranking late last week.

Eduniversal’s selection process began with identification of the world’s best 1,000 Business Schools based on performance in other rankings, accreditations, participation in academic associations, international networks and research reputation. Each of the schools selected was placed in one of five categories to indicate the institution’s level of international reputation.
Following the category process, deans of those institutions were involved in a peer voting system that resulted in the final rank order within each category. Deans were asked “Which business school(s) would you recommend to anyone wishing to study in this country?”
“I am gratified by this most recent recognition of our fine programs,” said Hopkins. “We work hard to develop and deliver outstanding programs, and we know the importance of building productive local, national and international partnerships. It is critical that our students have access to the individuals and experiences they need to develop the global perspective required of today’s successful business professionals.”
The EDUNIVERSAL rankings follow other distinctions this fall for the College of Business. U.S. News and World Report placed CSU, Chico’s College of Business on their 2011 list of Best Undergraduate Business Programs, and the college was included on Princeton Review’s list of best business schools for the fourth consecutive year for its excellent MBA program.
Fully accredited since 1972 by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the CSU, Chico College of Business has long been recognized as a leader in enterprise resource planning instruction and teaching excellence, developing curriculum that is used by the faculty of leading universities across the globe. Faculty-lead training sessions for business professionals throughout the world and partnerships with well-respected schools provide students with a unique academic experience that combines exemplary classroom instruction with opportunities to interact with students from other countries.
