Phi Kappa Phi Initiation and Medallion Ceremony

The California State University, Chico chapter of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society will hold its annual Initiation and Medallion Ceremony on Monday, May 4,
3:30¬–5 p.m. in the Bell Memorial Union Auditorium. New members will be inducted into the society, and the Dorthea Powers Scholarship will be awarded.

The honors will be presented by college deans, chapter officers and other university representatives. Department chairs, academic advisors, staff and faculty, family members and friends are encouraged to attend.

Founded in 1897, the Phi Kappa Phi has initiated more than 1 million members. Membership is by invitation only to the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students and the top 7.5 percent of juniors with at least 75 units. The society’s mission is “to recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and to engage the community of scholars in service to others.” Phi Kappa Phi has chapters on nearly 300 college and university campuses in North America and the Philippines.
