Museum Hosts Farm-to-Fork Career Day Nov. 17

The Gateway Science Museum at California State University, Chico is pleased to host its fourth career day for high school and university students on Monday, Nov. 17, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Themed Farm to Fork, the biannual event provides students the opportunity to meet with local agriculture, food science and nutrition professionals and learn about career possibilities in the fields that span from farm to fork. There will also be time to explore the museum’s new interactive exhibits, “Modern Farming”and “Eat Well, Play Well,” which highlight the science of agriculture, food and nutrition. Students will be eligible to win prizes such as a digital tablet, high-quality headphones and gift cards. Snacks will be provided.

The student-only event is sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank. Parents and siblings are encouraged to visit the museum at another time.

All students are free with valid student photo ID.

The Gateway Science Museum was opened in 2010 to educate and inspire North State residents. Located at 625 Esplanade in Chico, the museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults; $3 for seniors, children and students; and free for museum members.
