The following are the Academic Senate Committees and Committees to
which the Senate makes appointments. (At bottom is list of the Senate Chairs' committee.)

Academic Integrity (Council
for Promoting) (CPAI): Seven faculty (4 chosen by Senate,
2 from Graduate Coordinators' Committee, 1 by the Provost) in accordance
with (EM
04-36)
Academic Status Committee:
Eight faculty (one from each College) in accordance with
(EM 05-03 )
Activity Fee Council
(Associated Students):
One faculty member, in consultation with the provost, for a 1-year term.
The committee outlines and defines policies and procedures to review
the Associated Students Activity Fees, which funds approximately 50
student programs.
All University Responsibility
Teacher Education Council (AURTEC): One faculty member
who is the Chair of the Educational Policies and Program Committee (EPPC).
Provides program and policy oversight of the teacher education programs.

Americans With Disabilities Act
(ADA) Committee: One faculty member in accordance with
(EM 99/21)
Arboretum Committee:
Four faculty members, 2-year term, renewable. Participates in the development
and critique of policies and plans that affect the campus Arboretum
and related programs.
Campus Climate Committee One purpose of the Committee is to aid in the implementation of EO 927. EO 927 "broadens the scope of what was once the CSU's sexual harassment policy to one that prohibits unlawful harassment based on any statutory category protected by the Fair Employment and Housing Act." EO 927 "reemphasizes the importance of training the CSU community on anti-harassment and anti-retaliation policies and procedures in order to preevent and correct harassment." EM 06-01
Campus Planning Committee:
Two faculty members, 2-year term. Responsibilities encompass the physical
appearance of the campus; the setting and architecture of buildings,
the landscape, campus traffic planning, and the general management of
space between buildings.
Commencement Committee:
Four faculty for a 1-year term (1 chosen by Senate, 3 chosen by Council
of Academic Deans). Plans and conducts commencement exercises in accordance
with the Commencement Policy. Works with the Director of Alumni Relations.

Community Affairs
Council (AS): One
faculty, 1-year term. Makes recommendations to the AS Governmental Affairs
Committee concerning action, legislation and issues before governmental
bodies that affect students and the University community.
Distance Learning
Advisory Group: One faculty member. Reviews policies and
determines courses of action to deal with problems and ideas from Info
Resources and RCE related to distance learning, i.e., set the policy
that all on-line courses must be part of progress in a degree program,
not be offered as individual stand-alones.
Educational
Policies And Programs Committee: One of the two Standing
Committees of the Academic Senate, though which the Senate does most
of its work. In addition to the senators appointed to the committee,
there are seats for three faculty (non-senators), 1-year terms. Establishes,
reviews, and monitors all curricular policies and academic requirements.
Reviews changes in reorganization of departments, schools and programs.
EPPC meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Enrollment Management
Advisory Committee: Eight faculty members from each college
for a 3-year terms, in accordance with (EM

Environmental
Affairs Council (Associated Students):
One faculty, 1-year term. Council is to act as an advocate for the general
health of the Earth's physical and biological environment, and to raise
and address specific issues associated with the environment.
Equal Opportunity Employment (Uni.) Committee: Five faculty members appointed by the Senate for a 2-year staggered term in accordance with (EM

Executive Management
Evaluation And Development: Four faculty members, 2-year
terms in accordance with (EM
03-10)
Faculty And Student
Policies Committee: One of the two Standing Committees
of the Academic Senate, though which the Senate does most of its work.
In addition to the senators appointed to the committee, there are seats
for three faculty (non-senators), 1-year term. Concerned with all issues
relating to faculty retention, tenure, and promotion; faculty recognition,
support, professional development, and leaves; faculty governance, such
as department chair policies and relations between faculty and administration.
This committee, in consultation with the VPSA, will recommend student
policies to the University President. FASPC meets the second and fourth
Tuesday of each month, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Faculty Recognition
And Support Committee: Sixteen tenured or tenure-track
faculty for 2-year term staggered in accordance with (EM
05-06)
Financial Aid
Advisory Committee: One faculty member. Committee meets
4-6 times per year to discuss Financial Aid policy.
General
Education Advisory Committee: One faculty member selected from EPPC in accordance
with (EM
99-05)
Government
Affairs Committee (GAC) (Associated
Students): One faculty. Defines the membership authority
and meeting procedures of the A.S. Government Affairs Committee (GAC).

Graduate Coordinators
Committee: One faculty member in accordance with (EM97/14)
Instructionally
Related Activities Advisory Committee: Four faculty, nominated
by the Academic Senate officers; appointed by the University President
for a 2-year term. The IRA committee will make recommendations to the
President on the level of IRA fees and the allocation of IRA fees. (EM

International
Programs (Academic Council For): One faculty member by
the chair of the Academic Senate upon consultation with the Provost
and the Director of International Studies. Council plays a significant
leadership role in our pancollegial efforts to internationalize the
University and its curriculum.
Library Advisory
Committee: Six faculty for a two -year term in accordance
with (EM

Public Safety Committee
(University): One faculty member, 3 year appt. Promotes
the cause of safety throughout the university and to increase awareness
of safety conditions and programs among all members of the university
community. (EM 05-07 )
Recreational Sports
Student Liaison Council (RSSLC): One faculty member for
one-year term. The RSSLC acts as a liaison between the Recreational
Sports Program (RSP) and the campus community.
Research Foundation
Board: One faculty member, by the University President.
Duties include grants and contracts business-soliciting for funding
of projects.
Research & Sponsored
Programs: Eight elected faculty members from each college
for a 3-year term in accordance with (EM
97-14)
Scholarship
Committee: Five faculty, appointed by the President, upon
recommendations of the Dean's Council and the Senate Executive Committee.

Service Learning Placement Committee: One faculty member appointed annually by the EC of the Academic Senate, in consultation wit the Provost. (EM 05-18)
Special Major:
One faculty member from the Educational Policies and Programs Committee,
3-year term in accordance with (EM

Speech And Advocacy
Advisory Board (SAAB): Four faculty, 1-year term in accordance
with (EM 86/12 not yet available on line)
Student Evaluation
Of Teaching: Two faculty, 2-year term, staggered. Approves
departmental questionnaires and procedures for all development and implement
of a standard questionnaire.
Studen Council on Health Services : One faculty, 1-year term, renewable.
Provides formal communication between the campus community and the Student
Health Center.
Transportation Committee:
One faculty member, appointed by the University President. 1-year term.
The committee is consulted about the distribution of campus revenues
generated from parking fines and forfeitures and used for the development
and operation of alternative methods of transportation.
University Affairs
Council (Associated Students):
This council formulates proposals for reform in university affairs and
develops resolutions for change. Increased communication, interaction
and cooperation between the administration, faculty and student body
in the area of university affairs are the chief goals of this body.
Helping establish student representation on department level and curriculum
committees is another purpose. Students on this council will be chosen
according to the academic schools they represent to ensure a strong
link between students and the faculty and staff within individuals schools.
Some members of the council also represent student interests by serving
on Academic Senate standing committees.
Univeristy Budget Committee:The charge to the Committee is to meet regularly to review the relationship of academic programs and campus budget; to provide timely participation by faculty and students in budget processes; to propose broad strategies for adjusting the academic programs and budget to one another; and to review the effects of their implementation before adoption by the University. University Technology Advisory Committee (UTAC): One faculty member appointed by the Academic Senate Executive Committee. One-year term. One faculty member from each college including INF selected by the respective deans. Provides advice and assistance for the planning effort required to implement goals set by the Target 2000 Information Technology Plan for CSUC. (EM 06-__)
University Writing Committee:
The Provost appoints one faculty member from each college in accordance
with (EM
