Dr. Cindy Prescott

Dr. Cindy PrescottDr. Cindy Prescott is a forest ecologist and Professor Emerita in the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia. Her research focuses on nutrient cycling and organic matter processes in forest ecosystems, including factors that influence nutrient availability and carbon sequestration in forest soils, effects of forestry activities on soil processes, and restoration of forest soils following disturbance. Dr. Prescott has authored or co-authored more than 150 refereed journal articles and 11 book chapters. She served as an Editor for Forest Ecology and Management, and the Canadian Journal of Forest Research. Dr Prescott has received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Helsinki,  the Canadian Forestry Scientific Achievement Award and a Scientific Achievement Award from the International Union of Forest Research Organizations.
