Jake Hoskins

Jake Hoskins(opens in new window), who graduated with a B.A. in Economics in 2009, is a quantitative modeler and data scientist for Umpqua Bank(opens in new window) in Portland, Oregon.   After graduation Jake worked for one year as an assistant store manager at Walgreens(opens in new window) before entering a Ph.D. program in Business Administration(opens in new window) (emphasis in Marketing) at the University of Utah(opens in new window) in fall of 2010.

Jake completed his doctoral program in spring of 2015 and accepted a position as an assistant professor of marketing at Millsaps College(opens in new window) in Jackson, Mississippi, in August of 2015.  After 2 years at Millsaps Jake took a position as assistant professor of marketing at Westminster College(opens in new window) in Salt Lake City. 

In 2019 Jake left Westminster for his current job with Umpqua.  In his current role, Jake builds econometric models to inform bank strategy ranging from capital planning to marketing initiatives.
