English Education Core Courses

The following lists the required courses for all English Education Majors. Please note: in addition to the core courses, majors are required to fulfill the requirements of one of the three Breadth and Perspective Patterns. The University Catalog lists the same information that you find here, but organized in a different (and, some have said, more convoluted) form. Also, if you plan to attend Chico State's Credential program, you'll need a few extra classes.

English Education majors report that taking a balance of classes within English's various disciplinary strands during any given semester is helpful. For instance, a good first semester might include English 340 and 356 (literary studies), English 375 (language/linguistics), and English 335 (writing).

14 Core Courses: 42 Units.
