About Me

Since 2007, I have regularly taught Humanities 222 (Arts and Ideas, Modern), Humanities 398 (International Films) and Humanities 400 (Seminar in Humanities).  I have also supervised several senior theses in the Humanities and mentored several internships at the 1078 Gallery where I serve on the board of directors.  The Humanities Internship offers a great way for you to put your interdisciplinary skills to work by helping with art, music, film and theatre events.

Before moving to Chico, I worked for two years at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay where I taught courses in the departments of English the Humanities.  Indeed, I completed my Ph.D. in English Literature at the University of York (U.K.), but my dissertation (“Place and Memory in the Poetry of Michael Longley and Seamus Heaney”) spans several disciplines in the humanities including art history, theatre, history, linguistics, philosophy and, of course, English!
